Making art is a way of unlocking ideas! Join Victoria, architectural designer & mixed-media artist, for an afternoon of sketching and collaging.

Victoria Noakes is an artist with a passion for Water, Cities & Bodies. To raise awareness for pollution in the River Thames, join Victoria to make lots of “Rubbish Drawings”! Using a variety of playful techniques and scales, you will be sketching debris collected from the Thames Foreshore.

Visual artist, Victoria Noakes, created a new immersive listening experience for this workshop, which guided participants along the Thames Path and directed their attention toward the plant and animal life inhabiting the foreshore at Crossness, as well as the large-scale industrial infrastructure that has come to dominate this stretch of the river with its sewage refineries and waste incinerators.

As part of the 2022 Hyundai Commission, Cecilia Vicuña worked with the Thames to create and develop her work. Inspired by this relationship to the Thames this event will provide space to discuss and explore collaboration with London’s largest river. Victoria Noakes will host one workshop which consists of an audio-guided encounter with the Thames Foreshore, followed by a “thinking through making” session.

(Private Event) Hosting a drawing workshop for UCL students at Gorst Road Studios. We will focus on various methods of “shading” to create volumes with mediums such as graphite and spray paint. We will also use collage as a medium to create mixed-media still-life compositions which we will infill with imaginary drawn volumes and objects.

An immersive audio event bringing people together on the Thames foreshore at low tide for a participative listening experience, to heal our relationship with nature.
